Beta carotene
Beta carotene (also called provitamin A) is an important carotenoid that, in many organisms, serves as a vitamin A precursor (two vitamin A molecules are created from one beta carotene molecule). Beta carotene works as an antioxidant in the body. Its deficiency increases the risk of cancer and decreases the overall immunity of the body. If vitamin A is not supplied to the body, this vitamin cannot be created, which causes significant health risks.
